An incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the temple of Lord Balaji is on the Tirumala hills in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh in South India. The eyes of the idol are covered with a cloth lest it burn down the world. This cloth is removed only on Thursdays. The nine days before Dussehra, every year is celebrated as Tirumala Brahmotsavam, the manifestation of Lord Balaji on earth. Lord Balaji is also known as the Lord of Seven Hills.
