Description
Yograj Guggul (Commiphora mukul) Guggulu, the oleo-resin from C.Mukul has been mentioned in the Atharvaveda, and in the early medical on the basis of its anti-inflammatory potential texts of Charaka, Shushrut: the Samhitas and Nighantus the Guggulu find its application in various clinical types of arthritis. 

In patients with coronary insufficiency, and ischemic heart disease the oleoresin of guggul has a cholestrol lowering effect. It has hypolipidaemic and anti-inflammatory effect. Guggulosterones are active principles.
